Regarded as one of the largest and oldest stepwells in India, Chand Baori is a true architectural masterpiece. Built over a thousand years ago, this geometrically precise structure descends over 13 levels and consists of more than 3,500 narrow steps. Originally designed to conserve rainwater and serve as a community gathering spot during the scorching summers, Chand Baori reflects the brilliance of ancient Indian engineering. As you walk around its edges and observe the repeating patterns, you’ll be left in awe of its sheer depth and symmetry.

Just a few steps away from the Baori is the Harshat Mata Temple, dedicated to the goddess of joy. Though much of the temple is in ruins, what remains still offers a glimpse into its glorious past. Intricate stone carvings, broken pillars, and serene surroundings make this site spiritually and historically significant. According to legends, the ever-smiling goddess blessed the region with light, joy, and prosperity. After soaking in the peaceful ambiance and historic charm of the village, you'll begin your return journey back to Jaipur.
